The Genshin Impact 2.7 update is delayed and won’t be arriving as expected in May 2022. MiHoYo took to Twitter to announce a postponement. It didn’t offer any details about how things will be handled in-game just yet. However, it did promise compensation for players and some sort of updated roadmap in the future.
Here is the company’s official announcement.
Dear Travelers,
Due to project progress, the Version 2.7 update will be postponed.
For detailed information on the date of the new update, content adjustment plan, and compensation, please stay tuned for upcoming announcements.#GenshinImpact pic.twitter.com/FiiGQyJO1G— Genshin Impact (@GenshinImpact) April 29, 2022
Typically, the new Genshin Impact update arrives right after the last banner of an update is about to end. In this case, that would mean that 2.7 would have shown up on May 11, 2022. That’s when the Ayaka rerun banner will disappear. As an update has never been delayed before, it is unknown how miHoYo will handle the current banner situation.
While we don’t know much about what will come in the 2.7 update, we do know two new characters who will appear. One is the five-star Hydro archer Yelan. She showed up briefly in the latest The Chasm quests in Liyue. The other new unit is the four-star Electro sword-wielder and Arataki Gang member Kuki Shinobu.
Genshin Impact is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile devices. It will also eventually come to the Nintendo Switch. There’s no release window for the delayed Genshin Impact 2.7 update yet.
