The ESRB leaked details about Aero-Cross, an upcoming game from Namco Bandai where players run on a track and jump over rolling barrels.

This is a racing game in which players control a human-like character that runs and jumps through futuristic track environments while performing tricks and avoiding obstacles. Mines, hurdles, and rolling barrels will sometimes cause racers to get flung off the track; a droid robot may grab and zap players’ character, resulting in a shocking effect that causes the racer’s body to twitch.

Jumping over hurdles, running on a track, and doing mid-air tricks sounds a lot like Metrocross, an old arcade game developed by Namco. The only thing missing is the handy skateboard that let players zip through levels. Perhaps, Aero-Cross is a remake? If that’s the case, Aero-Cross is probably for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.
