Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.1 to Add New Mounts and Minions

Square Enix will add new mounts in Final Fantasy XIV with the arrival of Patch 6.1. The company revealed several of these new additions during the Letter from the Producer Live 70. One of the mounts players can obtain once Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.1 goes live is a pod from NieR: Automata. A furry mount that looks eerily similar to the Goobbue was also shown, alongside a hippo drawing a carriage. The presentation also showed two other mounts. One was a long-necked creature with hooves and wings. The other has has a similar model to the T-Rex.

The Letter from the Producer Live also showed several new minions. This included a car minion, which appears to be driven by Nero tol Scaeva. The others were a kangaroo, a blue-footed bird, and a magitek of some kind. Players will also be able to obtain a minion inspired by a Pomeranian. It will have black and white fur.

While many new mounts and minions were shown, the Final Fantasy XIV 6.1 Letter from the Producer Live did not disclose how players could obtain them. Square Enix will reveal more information in the future.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.1 will arrive on April 12, 2022.
