FFXIV 6.1 Job Changes Boost White Mage Healing, Give Samurai Guaranteed Crits

As part of the Letter from the Producer LIVE Part LXX, Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida went over FFXIV job changes coming in the 6.1 patch. Among them are a number of changes that can make certain characters or skills more viable. For example, there will be FFXIV buffs to help the White Mage’s healing, increase the Dark Knight’s survivability, and guarantee the Samurai critical hits.

Here’s the full, official list of everything changing in the game from slides Yoshida shared. The Samurai and Ninja both will see quite a few job changes in FFXIV. The samurai’s Kaeshi: Namikiri, Kaeshi: Setsugekka, Midare Setsugekka, and Ogi Namikiri will all get guaranteed critical hits. However, it is losing Hissatsu: Kaiten. The Ninja’s Mug will make enemies take more damage. However, Trick Attack only makes a Ninja deal more damage.

The FFXIV White Mage and Dark Knight 6.1 job changes came up in the second slide. It started by bringing how Dark Knights will now get HP when they attack with Walking Dead. The goal is to make them a little less fragile. As for the White Mage, both Asylum and Cure Realm affect a larger area and Liturgy of the Bell can be ended early go heal more.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. Patch 1.6 will arrive on April 12, 2022.
