Horii didn’t offer any explicit teases about Dragon Quest XII. He only noted that both he and the team are working on it. he also mentioned he is working on “a lot of other titles.” However, none were named.

With Dragon Quest XII, we still don’t know too many details about it yet. A teaser trailer appeared back in May 2021. There haven’t been any announcements made since then.

At the same event, Dragon Quest Treasures appeared. This will be a console game starring Dragon Quest XI characters Erik and Mia. We’re also waiting on a HD-2D remake of Dragon Quest III and Dragon Quest X Offline.

Here’s a video going over all the GDC 2022 Game Developer Choice Awards winners. Some notable winners were Psychonauts 2 for Best Narrative, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart for Best Technology and Best Visual Art, and Inscryption for Game of the Year. The Dragon Quest creator’s Lifetime Achievement Award nod doesn’t appear in it.

GDC 2022 runs March 21-25, 2022.
