PS4 and PS5 Games and Systems No Longer Being Sold in Russia

Sony is the latest company to take action regarding sales due to the war in Ukraine. It announced that it will no longer sell its PS4 or PS5 consoles or their games in Russia. This will apply to both digital and physical sales, as it will no longer offer PlayStation Store access. The company announced it will also make donations to United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Save the Children. [Thanks, CNBC!]

With regards to PS4 and PS5 console and games’ sales in Russia, it noted that all old and new titles will no longer be available. In statements issued to multiple outlets, Sony noted this will include Gran Turismo 7, its most recent first-party title.

As for its charitable donation, Sony said its donation will amount to $2 million. It didn’t specify a split, only noting UNHCR and Save the Children will get the money. The former is designed to help refugees with aid and essentials. The latter specifically helps children in Ukraine.

Sony is the latest company to block sales of its products in Russia as a result of the Ukraine invasion. Microsoft is no longer offering products. The Nintendo Switch eShop no longer works in Russia. Both Epic Games and CD Projekt Red are blocking game sales via their PC storefronts.
