Krohnen caused quite a stir when revealed during The Game Awards 2021 pre-show. This is because he bears a strong resemblance to K9999, a KOF 2001 and 2002 character that looks like Akira‘s Tetsuo.

Here are Nakata’s thoughts on Krohnen.

With his sudden announcement, we’re ready to reveal our newest and mysterious character, Krohnen!

As he is a rough and wild character, we designed his clothes to fit his personality. If you look closely, you’ll notice his glove, mantle, and other parts of his design show heavy wear and tear.

Krohnen excels in close-range combat. He boasts an impressive jump attack, and he just loves to go to town on enemies with his forward-advancing specials.

And wouldn’t you know, Krohnen is also joining the KOF XV Open Beta Test 2 roster, so get ready to kick some ass!

People can see Krohnen for themselves on the PS4 and PS5. The second KOF XV open beta is running now until December 20, 2021. He’s one of the playable characters in it.

KOF XV will appear on February 17, 2022 on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
