Ancient Corp notes that Ouritsu Anapoko Gakuen is the “first and last RPG” from the developer. The game features a total of 120 characters to use in its strategic turn-based combat. Manga artist Ayami Morinaga illustrated many of the character models, as well as the game’s four-panel comics.

As the story is based around a school of dungeon explorers, there are school-themed minigames and tests that allow players to grow their characters. Eventually, these students may graduate from the school and leave the player’s roster. However, these graduating characters can also pass down their experience and skills to incoming students. As the story progresses, players can use these generational skills to battle stronger enemies.
