Where to Unlock Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker Extreme Trials

Editor’s Note: This guide will spoil major story content for Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker, as it will detail the available post-game Extreme Trials. If you have not completed the story and do not wish to be spoiled, please stop reading.

Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker launched with two available Extreme Trials. Extreme Trials are more challenging versions of the normal Trials players can encounter either through Main Scenario Quests or Side Quests, like in previous expansions. Completing this content will allow players to obtain jewelry and weapons to increase their item level.

Upon completing the Main Scenario Quests for Endwalker, players can access the Zodiark and Hydaelyn as post-game content. To unlock both Extreme Trials, players can teleport to Old Sharlayan and speak to the Wandering Minstrel. This NPC unlocked Extreme Trials for players in the past, but has a new location in the Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker expansion. Players can speak to The Wandering Minstrel at X:12.5, Y:13.9. In order to unlock the Zodiark and Hydaelyn Extreme Trials, players will need to speak to him twice. Both Trials can be unlocked immediately.

Tokens from each Extreme Trial can be exchanged at Radz-at-Han at X:10.6, Y:10.2 by speaking to the Totem and Sundry Exchange NPC. Jewelry can be exchanged for 5 Astral Totems a piece. Weapons of Divine Light can be obtained for 10 Umbral Totems a piece. However, the Paladin weapon and shield are the exception. The weapon will cost 7 Umbral Totems, while the shield will cost 3 Umbral Totems.

Final Fantasy XIV and its Endwalker expansion are immediately available for the PC, PS4, and PS5.
