According to the stream, the 13 Sentinels Switch release will be identical to the original PlayStation 4 edition of the game. That said, two pieces of additional content will be present. The first is that the “Digital Secret Files” and “Digital Art Book” downloadable content is included. These packs were previously limited to the premium editions of the PS4 original. Additionally, each playable character will have two new cosmetic outfits to use in the game’s “Destruction” combat mode. With 13 protagonists in the cast, this makes for a total of 26 new outfits. The Japanese edition of 13 Sentinels for Switch will also include an English voice track option. As the game only debuted outside Japan in September 2020, Japanese players did not have access to it at the time.

Atlus also made a trailer available for the 13 Sentinels Switch release.

Developed by Vanillaware (Dragon’s Crown, Odin Sphere), 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim takes place across multiple time periods, following 13 protagonists. Each character pilots a giant robot called a “Sentinel” to defend their home against invading monsters. The story uses Vanillaware’s style of 2D graphics, with a 3D strategic combat mode.

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is immediately available on the PS4. The 13 Sentinels Switch port goes on sale on April 14, 2022 in Japan and April 12, 2022 in North America and Europe. Check out Siliconera’s review of the game, as well as an interview with Lead Editor Allie Doyon and Voice Director Christian Le Monte on its English localization process.
