Koei Tecmo confirmed in the latest issue of Famitsu that it will release a demo version of Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires in Japan. Players with a Japanese account on the game’s platforms will be able to check some of its features ahead of the full release. [Thanks, Ryokutya!]
The Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires demo will let players try out the character creation mode, albeit with some limitations. Dynasty Warriors 9 includes revamped custom characters in order to fit into the game’s newer graphics engine. The Nioh 2-based system will have more features, such as a new attire system that combines inner clothing with outer armor, and a coloring system for each attire part.
The demo will also include a tutorial for castle siege battles. This will be the primary battle type when a faction invades another territory in the game. Footage of the siege battles was previously shown at ChinaJoy and Tokyo Game Show 2021.
Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires will release on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Koei Tecmo has yet to confirm when the demo will arrive. However, the full game releases in Japan and Asia on December 23, 2021, and North America and Europe on February 15, 2022.
