FFVII The First Soldier Update Will Include New Joystick Option

Here’s Square Enix’s announcement. It confirmed gyroscope would appear in FFVII The First Soldier first. When these sorts of controls are in games, it means someone could move the phone to move somehow in-game. This could mean something like a new way to move the camera.

There will also be a new virtual joystick option in FFVII The First Soldier. Right now when you move, the joystick appears wherever your left thumb lands. The update will offer a fixed option, so it remains in a certain place at all times. Already, the game offers a choice between a floating or fixed “fire” button for the gun. (Someone can also have auto fire on, where it fires when a foe is in the crosshairs.)

It is also working on known issues.

The announcement noted that both of these features are being added based on player feedback. In an interview with Siliconera, FFVII The First Soldier Producer Shoichi Ichikawa said player feedback would be considered when thinking about PC or console ports.

Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier is available for Android and Apple iOS devices. An update with new features is on the way.
