Koei Tecmo has opened digital pre-orders for Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires on Japanese and Asian platform storefronts. It also published a lot of screenshots for the post-release DLC coming to Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires.
The Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires digital deluxe edition will come with ten custom ancient officers designed after historical figures from the Chinese Warring States and Chu-Han Contention periods. It will also add three bonus scenarios. Two of them will take place around the historical Battle of Tong Gate in 211 AD and the Fall of Shu in 263 AD. The other will have a fictional setting based on the 2017 official character poll results.
Meanwhile, the Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires season pass will include five palace interiors and fourteen custom character attire sets, slated for release between January and March 2022. The attire sets will have a combination of new armor sets and old ones returning from prior games that were remade for the newer engine. The season pass will also have an exclusive DLC that lets an officer lead a special unit comprised of bears, wolves, tigers, or pandas.
Koei Tecmo has confirmed that it will sell most of the bundled DLC, except for the season pass-exclusive animal units, separately in the future.
Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires will be available on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It will first release in Japan and Asia on December 23, 2021. The English release date is on February 15, 2022.
