Nintendo revealed in its latest financial report that Nintendo Switch sales have reached 92.87 million units worldwide. This includes sales for the standard Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch Lite. This does not factor in any potential sales of the OLED model. Additionally, Nintendo has sold 8.3 million units of the Nintendo Switch within the past six months. Sales of the standard Nintendo Switch model have reached 6.45 million units, whereas the Lite version has sold 1.82 million units. These numbers have been aggregated over a period of six months, which ended on September 30, 2021. In May 2021, Nintendo had revealed that the Nintendo Switch had sold 84.59 million units worldwide. However, while general profit for Nintendo has continued to rise, sales within its mobile division have declined. Sales related to its mobile market have decreased by 4.6%, only generating 25.5 billion yen.
Additionally, general sales have also seen a decrease in comparison to the previous fiscal year. However, Nintendo states that its current results have remained inline with the company’s expectations. Nintendo also acknowledges that the success of its previous fiscal year was largely due to the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons and its surge in popularity. Another thing to note, is that the North American audience has made up 43.7% of total sales.
