Metal Slug Commander Launches on Mobile Devices

SNK China’s Metal Slug Commander, a mobile game involving collecting units and deploying them to face enemies, is now available worldwide. Rather than directly controlling people like Marco and Fio and various Slugs, you instead are a commander deploying and managing troops in levels. It is free-to-play on the App Store and Google Play, with in-app purchases to get Gems (paid currency) and various bonuses.

The official website offered a better idea of which characters are present and how the game works. The videos there show that each mission involves going into a fight with five characters equipped. These can be both people and Slugs. They are arranged on two lines in the field, with one in the foreground and another in the background. The characters will then fight opponents that appear in their lanes. There is also a secondary gauge under each character’s health bar that appears to trigger a special power.

SNK’s Metal Slug Commander site also mentioned a few of the characters that will appear in the game. The Regular Army has Marco, Fio, Louise, and the SV-001 Slug as potential characters. The Desert Army consists of Elysion, Hathol, HMT, and Sol Dae Rokker. Abigail, Beatriz, Jupiter King, and Shizuka represent the Rebel Army. Bloom Metzelei, Bonny, Fedeln Metzelei, and Pauline are part of the Space Army. Finally, the Revolution Army includes Jin and Red Goblin.

Metal Slug Commander is available on Android and Apple iOS devices.
