Pokemon Unite Update Will Nerf Gengar, Buff Charizard, and Fix Bugs

The Pokemon Company has announced that Pokemon Unite will receive an update on August 4, 2021, at 12 AM PDT/7 AM UTC that will balance the game and fix existing bugs. Much of the changes to Pokemon stats will be in the form of stat increases and reduced cooldowns, with a handful of characters receiving some minor nerfs. Additionally, Pokemon Unite will test out a spectator mode for a limited time until August 6, 2021.

The update includes various buffs and nerfs to a total of twelve different Pokemon. Below is a full list of all stat and ability changes:

Last week the company also added Gardevoir to Pokemon Unite, the first Pokemon to be added after the game’s release. Many of the playable Pokemon in the game are available for free or by completing challenges, including Zeraora.

The latest update will arrive on August 4, 2021, at 12 AM PDT/7 AM UTC. Pokemon Unite is immediately available for free on the Nintendo Switch, with a mobile version of the game planned to release in September 2021 for Android and iOS devices.
