Good Smile Company announced its Pui Pui Molcar Potato Nendoroid and first three Moderoid model kits will appear in early 2022. The three Moderoid kits of Abbey, Potato, and Shiromo will appear first in January 2022 in Japan. Each one will be ¥1,800. Then, in April 2022 in Japan and June 2022 in North America, the ¥4,200/$41.99 Nendoroid will appear.
The Pui Pui Molcar series follows a group of guinea pigs that are also cars. Each episode is a short segment following the adventure of one or many characters and their drivers/owners.
The Pui Pui Molcar Potato Nendoroid will be a flocked, fuzzy figure. There will be two face plates, so you can have his mouth open or closed. You can also display him with normal or crying eyes. He comes with a carrot he can “eat.” You can also pose him as though he is a car with other Nendoroids inside.
As for the Moderoid Pui Pui Molcar model kits, there will be multiple snap-together sets. Each one will let you put together a single guinea pig-car and its driver. (In the case of Shiromo, the “driver” is the thief who briefly stole him.) They also all come with stickers to show different facial expressions, like crying. The first three are of Abbey, Potato, and Shiromo. The initial pictures also show Choco, Teddy, the zombie, and a “Mad Max” style version of Teddy.
There is also a Pui Pui Molcar Easter egg on the Good Smile Company website at the moment. If you visit the main page, Potato will walk along the bottom of your browser. Hovering over the character will turn the cursor into a carrot and cause special reactions. Clicking on Potato takes you to the store page for it.
The Pui Pui Molcar Potato Nendoroid will come to Japan in April 2022 and North America in June 2022. The Abbey, Potato, and Shiromo Moderoid model kits will appear in Japan in January 2022. Pre-orders for both are open until September 15, 2021 in North America and September 16, 2021 in Japan. Pui Pui Molcar is streaming in Netflix.
