During the Genshin Impact version 2.0 livestream, PS4 and PS5 cross-save account linking was confirmed. Once the new update is live, people on PlayStation consoles will finally be able to link their account. This means they would be able to pick up and play on other platforms.
At the moment, Genshin Impact cross-save and account linking features are present in other versions of the game. So if someone is playing on an Android device, they could log into the PC version with their MiHoYo account. Everything they have would carry over, like their current progress and playable characters. Since that isn’t available for the PS4 and PS5 yet, the data is locked to the system.
MiHoYo didn’t explain how the Genshin Impact cross-save and account linking feature will work on the PS4 and PS5 yet. The developer noted that more information will come after the 2.0 Inazuma update is live. Once it does appear, people will have the same ability to pick up and play anywhere on other platforms as well.
Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and both Android and Apple iOS devices. The version 2.0 update is on the way and will add Inazuma and PS4/PS5 cross-save account linking.
