After successfully reaching its funding goal on Kickstarter, Swery’s The Good Life was initially scheduled to release in Q4 2019. After several delays, including the most recent one for summer 2021, the game will finally launch this Fall. During the title’s development cycle, the devs updated its visual style, gameplay mechanics, and music. The latest change is from the title’s previous publisher, The Irregular Corporation, to its new publisher. Playism uploaded a fresh trailer to its official YouTube channel to coincide with the announcement.

Swery’s company, White Owls, and Yukio Futatsugi’s company, Grounding, are co-developing the upcoming title. Fans might recognize Swery for his work on The Missing and the Deadly Premonition series; Futatsugi is the creator of Panzer Dragoon and Phantom Dust. In The Good Life, players will control Naomi Hayward, a journalist trying to repay her debt by uncovering mysteries in a small town in England.

The new release window for Swery’s The Good Life is Fall 2021. Fans will be able to ride sheep and transform into cats and dogs when it launches on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
