The Colors! 3D successor has a release date. Colors Live and its Sonarpen peripheral will launch for the Nintendo Switch on September 14, 2021. A bundle will be available in stores. That will cost $49.99 and give people the game and the pressure-sensitive pen.
This latest Colors release began life as a Kickstarter project back in May 2020. 4,254 people kicked in 2,381,323 Swedish Krona (~$286,281) to fund Jens Andersson’s application. People essentially get a digital sketchbook, like they did with Colors! 3D on the 3DS. However, this time the pressure sensitive pen lets you control how you draw and things like transparencies.
There are also going to be a few more modes in this installment. Once again, you have the painting mode where you can draw on your Switch. There will also be a Colors Gallery. This will let you see what others made. You’ll also be able to watch the drawing process. But the newest addition is Colors Quest. This is an actual game. Each day people will have a new artistic mission. The goal is to provide a reason to return and play with it, while also help teach different skills you can carry over to the sketchbook.
Colors Live will appear on the Switch on September 14, 2021.
