Yostar completed the sporadic character introductions for the upcoming Azur Lane event, “Mirror Involution.” The game’s Japanese Twitter account published biographies for USS Ticonderoga and USS Morrison, the final two characters set to debut through this event. It will add a total of 6 shipgirls into the United States-inspired Eagle Union, including the battleship USS New Jersey.
CV-14 USS Ticonderoga
Azur Lane will depict USS Ticonderoga as a friendly sister who also likes to joke. Although she is interested in finding out reactions to her responses, she is actually lacking in confidence and can be easily pressured.
The real CV-14 USS Ticonderoga was known as the first Essex-class carrier built with a longer hull. The carrier took part in not only World War II but also the Vietnam War. In her final active years in the early 1970s, she helped recover astronauts from finished space missions, such as Apollo 16-17 and Skylab 2.
DD-560 USS Morrison
The shipgirl personification of USS Morrison will appear as a timid girl. She always carries a mechanical bear which she believes will protect her. The shipgirl has a fixation on continuously upgrading the bear. She is even interested in samples of ship rigging from the Germany-inspired Ironblood faction.
In history, the Fletcher-class destroyer was known for sinking the Japanese submarine I-8 off Okinawa on March 31, 1945. But not long after, on May 4, 1945, she fell victim to multiple kamikaze aircraft and sunk quickly.
In the upcoming “Mirror Involution” event, USS Ticonderoga and Morrison will be the only two shipgirls not exclusively available through the Azur Lane construction gacha. As an Elite rarity shipgirl, USS Morrison will be a reward for accumulating points earned by clearing the event stages. The Super Rare USS Ticonderoga will be available from the point exchange shop and the construction pool with a non-pickup rate of 0.5 percent.
The “Mirror Involution” event will run in the Android and iOS game Azur Lane from May 27, 2021 to June 10, 2021.
