Back in February 2021, when the May 2021 Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest was announced, Square Enix confirmed Final Fantasy IV-themed items were on the way. Now, they’re here. Everyone can get the FFXIV Lunar Whale mount and three Minions inspired by FFIV heroes. All three are on sale as part of the festivities. They are also each account-wide items, so every character in your account can use them.
The FFXIV Lunar Whale mount is normally $42, but it is temporarily $35.70. That gets you the Lunar Whale Identification Key, so you and up to seven friends can ride the Garlond Ironworks vessel. There’s also a video showing it in action with eight riders.
As for the FFXIV FFIV Minions, Edge, Rydia, and Rosa are available. They will normally be $6.99 each. However, during this sale, they’re $5.94. For those unfamiliar, Minions primarily exist in the game to look cute. They’ll follow your character around. However, there is also a Lord of Verminion minigame that uses them as characters and actually has them fight.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. The Fan Fest will run May 14-15, 2021. The FFXIV FFIV-themed Lunar Whale mount and Edge, Rosa, and Rydia Minions are now available.
