Capcom published a new official video related to Resident Evil Village, showing how the game’s theme song, “Yearning for Dark Shadows,” was made. [Thanks, PlayStation.Blog!]
“Yearning for Dark Shadows” was performed and written by Aga Ujma and Brian D’Oliveira. Aga is a singer-songwriter from Poland who is known for her fusion of Polish and Indonesian folk music. Brian D’Oliveira is a BAFTA-nominated composer who had also previously worked on Resident Evil 7, as well as Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
The behind-the-scenes video revealed that the Resident Evil Village theme song was made at Metropolis Studios in London. It also showed how Aga recorded her voice and Brian adding a variety of instruments into the song.

Capcom has been launching various promotions for Resident Evil Village around the game’s long-awaited release. The franchise’s Japanese channel published puppet shows featuring Mother Miranda and the four Lords. It also worked with G Fuel to release an energy supplement inspired by Lady Dimitrescu’s Maiden Blood.
Resident Evil Village is now available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC. It has shipped over three million units on all platforms combined worldwide. The game’s original soundtrack, which also includes “Yearning for Dark Shadows,” will appear in both physical and digital formats on May 12, 2021.
