The Australian Nintendo Switch eShop product page for Cotton Reboot! suggested it’ll be out soon. The page offered a June 25, 2021 release date for the shoot’em up. While ININ Games didn’t confirm anything, that would fall in line with the early 2021 release window for the worldwide release. [Thanks, Resetera!]
The product page also confirmed many of the features available in the game. Both the original X68000 version and HD reboot are available. You’ll still shoot up opponents as Cotton and Silk. There are leaderboards, in case you want an incentive to keep playing and get high scores.
However, the eShop listing didn’t mention any of the additional content just yet. In Japan, it was confirmed that Appli and Needle would be added for free, so people could have a second character to use.
As a reminder, there will also be physical copies of Cotton Reboot available on the Switch and PS4 outside Japan. Strictly Limited is handling them. The standard versions are $48.99. The DX X68000 Editions are sold out, but the $96.99 Collector’s Editions that include the game, an art book, a soundtrack CD, an enamel pin, stickers, a mini shikishi, and a tea set are still available.
Cotton Reboot is available on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in Japan. If the Australian eShop listing is correct, we’ll see Cotton Reboot in other regions on June 25, 2021.
