Pokemon GO May 2021 Update Will Add Xerneas and Goomy

Niantic announced its next Pokemon GO event, which will kick off on May 4, 2021. Luminous Legends X is about to start. In addition to adding Xerneas to Pokemon GO’s raids, it also means Goomy and a new evolution method will appear.

This is generally a Kalos-themed event. Xerneas is the star and will begin appearing in Pokemon GO raids. There will also be Kalos dragon and fairy type Pokemon appearing more often during the time period. So people will have a chance of seeing Goomy, Spritzee, and Swirlix when they walk. Spritzee and Swirlix will also appear in 7km eggs and be Field Research rewards. Other characters that will appear more often are Bagon, Cottonee, Dratini, Galarian Ponyta, and Ralts.

The Pokemon GO debut of Goomy will also inspire May showers during this 2021 event. To evolve Sliggoo into Goodra, you need rain. This can happen when it is raining in the real world or with the new Rainy Lure Module. Timed Research tasks will allow people to earn one during Luminous Legends X.

There will also be a fairy-type challenge for all players between May 4-11, 2021. If people manage to catch 500 million Pokemon of that type during the period, Pancham raids will start, shiny Galarian Ponytas will appear, and a 3x catch XP bonus will be active

Here’s a video showing how Xerneas and Yvetal will look when they’re in Pokemon GO.

Pokemon GO is available for Android and Apple iOS devices, and its Luminous Legends X event will run May 4-17, 2021. Its New Pokemon Snap event involves shiny Smeargles.
