Here’s How Genshin Impact Gameplay Looks on a PS5

A lot of talk about the Genshin Impact PS5 version involved telling people what to expect, but now gameplay footage shows people how it will be different. Sony and miHoYo shared a new video looking at the game and offered additional insights about what changed for this version. Namely, it talked about a new “tailor-made file-loading system” and initial DualSense technologies applied to this version.

Many of the details involve points that came up in previous announcements. This is a 4K version with new high-res textures and HDR support. It also has a loading system built around the PS5 SSD to minimize times transitioning between spaces. As for the DualSense, features are still being explored. However, the initial changes involve redesigned haptic feedback, so its vibration settings will feel different.

Here’s almost eight minutes of Genshin Impact PS5 gameplay. We see Aether in Mondstadt, running and gliding around. He then takes a Bounty, which is part of the Reputation system, and heads out to complete it. This gives people a chance to see the reduced load times when going between Waypoints. After that, we get to see Albedo, Diona, Klee, and Mona at Dragonspine. Then, the footage heads back to Aether and his allies in Liyue.

Genshin Impact is available for the PlayStation 4, PC, and mobile devices. The PS5 version and 1.5 update will arrive on April 28, 2021. A Nintendo Switch version is in the works.
