Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City Now in Post-Production

During the April 2021 showcase, Capcom gave a small update on its live-action movie Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. Hiroyuki Kobayashi provided news about the production and asked fans to look forward to more information coming soon. The film will reportedly release in November 2021.

Shortly after the teaser and release window for Resident Evil Infinite Darkness, Capcom slipped in some extra information about another project. Producer of Resident Evil Media Business Hiroyuki Kobayashi brought up the live-action reboot film Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. Kobayashi stated that principal photography in Toronto, Canada is complete. Now that filming has wrapped up, the reboot has moved into post-production. The team is currently working on the computer-generated imagery and creatures for the movie. Kobayashi ended the update by asking fans to stay tuned for more information, including the release date.

Capcom’s Resident Evil April 2021 showcase was packed with announcements. We learned that three new, time-limited demos are on their way for Resident Evil Village. The upcoming mainline game also received a new trailer, plus details on its Mercenaries Mode. Finally, Capcom announced a Resident Evil Dead By Daylight collaboration is also in the works.

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City will release in theaters on November 24, 2021.
