We now know more about Resident Evil Village’s Lady Dimitrescu and her three daughters. Namely, we actually know who they are now. She lives in her castle with her eldest daughter Bela, middle daughter Cassandra, and youngest daughter Daniela. Art Director Tomonori Takano described the group as a “hierarchy of women.” [Thanks, IGN!]
In IGN’s preview, Director Morimasa Sato further explained the reason Capcom had this family in Castle Dimitrescu. He noted, “Ethan has a family he is trying to protect, so we wanted to have a family for Lady Dimitrescu as well, to provide a contrast.”
Each of the Lady Dimitrescu’s daughters has her own personality, though the concept art Capcom shared shows they dress similarly. Bela is the most stable, Cassandra was described as sadistic, and Daniela will be the wild “most delusional” one.
The preview also offered some details about Lady Dimitrescu herself. She’s 9’6” tall, wears a 17.3 inch shoe, and Capcom actually scanned a certain pair of heeled shoes into the game for her to wear. Takano explained the team, “intentionally made the character design a bit more extravagant than in Resident Evil 7.” Takano also referred to The Addams Family and Audrey Hepburn when determining what she might wear.
Resident Evil Village will come to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and Google Stadia on May 7, 2021. Preloading is available ahead of the April 8, 2021 Resident Evil Re:Verse open beta.
