Capcom has announced a new collaboration, this time between Monster Hunter Rise and TikTok. From March 19, 2021, users will be able to use a new “Pet Filter” that can be applied to videos of users’ pet cats. While there are currently no videos of the filter being used, it will be based on the Palico companion. Official images mention that the filter will “transform [pets] and give them cute gear.” [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
Additionally, TikTok will be hosting a competition for users in Japan starting March 26, 2021 and ending April 11, 2021. Users can submit videos via the hashtag “#TikTokでゲーム中チャレンジ”, and winners will be awarded with exclusive Monster Hunter Rise merchandise.
Prizes include Senjafuda-style stickers with popular monster names in Japanese and two drawstring bags with Palico and Palamute designs. Additionally, the first prize winner will receive a Japanese tea mug, with the names of monsters written in both their Kanji and Katakana forms. Previously, the Japanese tea mug and drawstring bag were prizes in the retweet campaign hosted by the official Monster Hunter Rise JP Twitter account.
Here’s the full list of prizes:
- Special Prize A (One Winner): Senjafuda-style Stickers + Original Japanese Tea Mug (Two Mugs)
- Special Prize B (Five Winners): Senjafuda-style Stickers + Palico Drawstring Bag + Palamute Drawstring Bag

The Monster Hunter Rise TikTok filter will be available starting March 19, 2021, with the competition running from March 26, 2021 to April 11, 2021.
Monster Hunter Rise will come to the Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021. Capcom has also announced a free Title Update will be coming post-launch, which will add Chameleos and remove the Hunter Rank Cap. The Title Update releases in April 2021.
