The Super Nintendo World opening day is finally almost here. After multiple delays, Nintendo confirmed it. People who head to Universal Studios Japan will be able to visit it starting on March 18, 2021.
This is the second opening day for the park in 2021, following COVID-19 pandemic-related delays. Originally, Nintendo said it would open on February 4, 2021. People would be able to go through Mario Kart Bowser’s Challenge or Yoshi Adventure, and there would be places to buy souvenirs and food.
However, the pandemic struck again. In Osaka, where Universal Studios Japan is located, there was a state of emergency declared. Places took more precautions as a result. That led to the delay until the situation improved.
While people waited, Nintendo did share quite a bit of information about this area. It even dedicated a December 2020 Nintendo Direct to the area. Shigeru Miyamoto appeared to talk about the place and its inspirations. Following that, the company also opened up a virtual tour. That allows people to look at Super Nintendo World areas and rides without having to travel all the way to Japan to visit.
Japan’s Universal Studios’ Super Nintendo World opening day will be March 18, 2021.
