Fate/Grand Order keeps its players busy with a chain of successive events, and that trend shows no signs of abating. Aniplex updated the official FGO website with details of “An Old Spider Spins Webs of Memory,” the next planned limited-time event, set to kick off almost immediately after the ongoing Fate/Extra CCC crossover rerun ends. This will be held in the global version of the game.
“An Old Spider Spins Webs of Memory” teams the Masters of Chaldea up with none other than Professor James Moriarty, the archetypal criminal mastermind and nemesis of Sherlock Holmes. Moriarty was first introduced to Fate/Grand Order as a major character in 2019’s Epic of Remnant story expansion’s Pseudo-Singularity I: Shinjuku Phantom Incident. There he was known only as the “Archer of Shinjuku.” Players will join the crafty silver fox on a journey to 19th-century Europe, to uncover the a story.
Players will be able to play story missions unlocked day by day and repeat special quests. This will let them gather currency that can be traded for goodies like resources and ascension materials, as well as a special cosmetic skin for Moriarty.
The Fate/Grand Order event’s timing also lines up with White Day. White Day began in Japan as a counterpart to Valentine’s Day. Japanese Valentine’s Day celebrations are typically focused on women giving gifts to their male friends and romantic interests. White Day, which takes place a month later on March 14th, serves as a chance for men to return the favor with gifts of their own.
And in keeping with the theme, men get special billing in FGO‘s White Day event. All male Servants get a bonus to their attack power during the event. Similarly, FGO is also opening its Chaldea Boys Collection promo campaign, releasing a set of limited-time craft essences and command codes to commemorate the occasion. Moriarty and a selection of male Servants also will return in a special gacha banner.
The Fate/Grand Order White Day Event will kick off on March 8, 2021 and run until March 15, 2021. The game is available to download for iOS and Android devices.
