Sega is kicking off their Dreamcast digital download service today with Sonic Adventure on Xbox Live Arcade. PlayStation 3 owners in the West can pick it up next week while Japan has to wait until September 29 for Sonic Adventure.
The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 port has an enhanced framerate, it renders twice the amount of frames compared to the original Dreamcast release. Like to collect digital trinkets? Sonic Adventure has plenty. Achievements and avatar items on Xbox 360. Trophies and PlayStation Home Rewards on PlayStation 3.
Sonic Adventure costs either 800 Microsoft Points ($10) or 1,000 yen ($12) on PSN. A DLC pack that makes Metal Sonic playable and includes missions from the Gamecube title Sonic Adventure DX: Director’s Cut is sold separately for 400 MSP ($5) or 500 yen ($6).
