AMD noted on Twitter that the PC version of Capcom’s upcoming game, Resident Evil Village, will feature ray tracing and AMD FidelityFX.
The tweet contains footage demonstrating what the Resident Evil Village PC version might look like with the implementation of ray tracing and AMD FidelityFX. Ray tracing has also been confirmed for the PlayStation 5 version of Resident Evil Village.
AMD Fidelity FX is a toolkit that developers can utilize to adjust, among other things, the visual sharpness of an image. AMD also claims that it can improve some of the effects of ray tracing, which is a technique used in rendering light, shadow, and reflections.
Capcom recently confirmed that the Japanese voice actors Hiroki Touchi, Hidenobu Kiuchi and Akari Higuchi were cast reprise the roles of Chris Redfield, Ethan Winters, and Mia Winters, respectively. The company also announced that Kikuko Inoue will voice Lady Dimitrescu, one of Resident Evil Village’s original characters. Inoue’s previous roles include The Boss from Metal Gear Solid 3,and Belldandy from Oh! My Goddess.
Resident Evil Village is the eighth main entry in Capcom’s Resident Evil franchise. It is set to release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on May 7, 2021. Customers who purchase Resident Evil Village will gain access to the online multiplayer game, Resident Evil Re: Verse, which will be available for the same platforms that same day.
