The long and complicated history of Evangelion 3.0+1.0 and its often delayed release date will finally come to an end. The official Evangelion Twitter account posted a notice that the film will appear in Japanese theaters on March 8, 2021. The movie experienced multiple delays since its initially planned June 2020 launch.
On its release date, Evangelion 3.0+1.0 will be shown in IMAX, MX4D, and 4DX. Theaters will also begin distributing B6-sized flyers with new artwork of Asuka specifically drawn for the occasion. Theaters have a total of three million promotional flyers to hand out.

Neon Genesis Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time is the fourth film in the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy, also known as Shin Evangelion in Japan. Originally expected back in 2015, Writer and Director Hideaki Anno was busy working on the Shin Godzilla movie at the time. After production resumed on Evangelion 3.0+1.0, the distributors gave the film a planned release date window of June 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the movie received a few delays since then. The most recent was in January 2021, due to Japan’s declaration of a State of Emergency.
Studio Khara uploaded another new trailer to promote the updated Evangelion 3.0+1.0 release date. This time, it features the theme song for the movie, “One Last Kiss” by Hikaru Utada.
