On March 1, 2021, players will be able to encounter a slew of Pokemon that have previously been unavailable in Pokemon GO. For example, Mega-Evolved forms of Pokemon will be appearing in Mega Raids at the start of the event, with plans to introduce more of these Pokemon as the season continues.

According to Niantic, new Pokemon will be introduced to different habitats, too. In specific, they mention Mantines could appear near water and Voltorbs could crop up in cities. The Pokemon that are exclusive to the northern or southern hemisphere will also appear more often this season.

Other features of the new season include new Pokemon available through eggs, like Treecko and Torchic. There will be Season-exclusive special research with Professor Willow. Folks can collect free Remote Raid Passes. There will also be experience point buffs for five-star raids.

Pokemon GO is available for Android and iOS devices. The current Tour Kanto Event featuring a Shiny Mew is set to conclude on February 28, 2021 at 7:59 pm local time. The Pokemon GO Therian Formes of Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus will appear on March 1, 2021.
