People can try karu_gamo’s Blazing Rangers NES game with a new demo rom ahead of launch. An itch.io page for the action game is now open and offers a 40kb file that works in emulators, emulation devices, and flash cartridges.
Blazing Rangers’ premise is simple. People follow two fire fighters, either alone or with a friend, as they fight fires and save kids in a burning building. Some of the fires are actually monsters, as you might imagine. There are some strategic elements as well. Popo is physically stronger, which means he’s faster when carrying kids or pumping water. Mimi is faster, which can help her get to areas quickly before fire spreads. You also only have so many feet of hose available, limiting your unlimited water range.
While the full game will have 32 levels, the Blazing Rangers demo rom has four to try out. It does include all of the modes, including the more strictly timed Mode B. Cooperative multiplayer is also supported in the trial.
Blazing Rangers will debut in either April or May 2021, and there are multiple physical editions available to pre-order. In case you missed it, Siliconera spoke with karu_gamo about the game’s development and the Gotta Protectors Switch game.
