Bandai Namco confirmed that it will release Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs 2 X Boost (pronounced Cross Boost) for Japanese arcades on March 10, 2021. In a pre-recorded stream that premiered on YouTube on February 12, 2021, the developer team confirmed that the PvE CPU battles will be available permanently in X Boost. It also made some changes to the Online Versus mode by splitting player matchmaking into the registered Ranked Matches, the restriction-less Casual Matches, and a quick Priority Matching for players at the same location.

Shortly after the streaming premiere, Bandai Namco Amusement published a new short trailer summarizing the new features added to X Boost. The new version will add three new Mobile Suits at launch—Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex, Gundam Flauros, and Star Build Strike Gundam—bringing the series’ total playable roster to 198 Mobile Suits.

Previously in November 2020, Bandai Namco revealed changes made to the EX Burst system. X Boost will have a total of 5 EX Bursts: Fighting and Shooting from Extreme Vs Maxi Boost ON—the latest iteration available worldwide on PlayStation 4, Mobility from the base Extreme Vs 2, and two brand-new types: Covering and Raging.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs 2 X Boost will be available in arcades in Japan on March 10, 2021.
