The Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis second closed beta test application has been extended to March. Sega released a statement through the official Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis website, stating that the application period has been extended to allow for more users to participate. Additionally, the processing requirements for the second closed beta test have been dropped slightly. Those interested will be able to apply to the closed beta test until March 1, 2021. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
The official forum post states that those who can run Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis at 15 FPS with low graphic settings will now be able to participate in the second closed beta test. As it stands, this closed beta test is exclusive to Japanese audiences and those who wish to participate will need a Sega ID in order to access the game.
An official date for the second closed beta test will be revealed at a later date. This is due to an issue that arose during the first closed beta test in which the server load would unexpectedly increase.
Recently, Sega released the opening movie for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis. This was shared during the reveal of a new key visual for the upcoming MMORPG.
Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis will release in 2021 for the PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch in Japan.
