The Japanese Azur Lane Twitter account has revealed KMS U-410 as a new shipgirl coming to the popular mobile game. She will join the ever-growing list of submarines added to the Germany-inspired Ironblood faction roster.
As one of the Type VIIC U-boats, U-410 will be depicted in Azur Lane as a shipgirl who has a standard principle of not letting others know about her whereabouts or intentions. The Japanese account also mentioned that U-410 is especially worried about the self-paced personification of HMS Penelope, considering their histories.
Although the historical HMS Penelope received infamous nicknames like Pepperpot and Porcupine for taking a lot of shrapnel from bombs, U-410 was, ironically, the very submarine responsible for sinking Penelope in Italian waters on February 18, 1944. U-410 herself was eventually rendered inoperational by an American air raid when she was docked in Toulon, France, on March 11, 1944.
KMS U-410 will be available as a reward shipgirl from an event. The upcoming maintenance update on February 4, 2021, will replace the “Empyreal Tragicomedy” rerun with a celebration for Lunar New Year 2021, the additions of Chao Ho-class cruisers, and a new event map that will tell the stories of HMS Penelope and KMS U-410.
Azur Lane is immediately available on Android and iOS devices worldwide.
