Takaya Imamura has announced his departure from Nintendo. The information came through his Facebook page, which revealed that he would be leaving the company after thirty-two years. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
The Facebook post reads:
This is my last day at work. I took a picture with the empty office. I suppose I won’t be coming here anymore. As you might expect, I’m going to miss it.
Imamura also released a Tweet regarding his departure, though the statement is exactly the same as his Facebook post.
Takaya Imamura worked on various Nintendo properties throughout his time with the company. This included providing the character designs for games like Star Fox 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. His first role within the company was as as a graphic designer, where he provided his skills for work on F-Zero. Imamura’s most recent game credits include Starlink: Battle for Atlas, which featured a Star Fox collaboration.
In May 2020 Nintendo shared a series of Star Fox themed Zoom backgrounds and wallpapers. This included backgrounds featuring characters like Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi, Slippy Toad, and Peppy Hare. Other backgrounds included stills of areas found in the headquarters. All of these images are stills from a previously released Production IG animation for Star Fox Zero. These wallpapers are still available to download.
