Black Rock Shooter Anime Blu-Ray Will Include an English Dub

Discotek Media will release a Black Rock Shooter The Complete TV Series Blu-ray in North America. The Blu-ray will have eight, uncut TV episodes and will include an English dub. This is the first time the Black Rock Shooter anime will appear in the region. More information, such as a release date and other details, will be revealed at a later date.

However, Sound Cadence Studio shared the English voice cast for the new Black Rock Shooter anime’s dub. The cast will include the following voice actors:

  • Xanthe Huynh as Mato Kuroi
  • Suzie Yeung as Yomi Takanashi
  • Kayli Mills as Kagari Izuriha
  • Dani Chambers as Yuu Koutari
  • Anairis Quinones as Arata Kohata
  • Natalie Van Sistine as Saya Irino

The Black Rock Shooter anime originally aired on Japanese TV stations back in February 2012. The series was directed by Shinobu Yoshioka, with the script written by screenwriter Mari Okada. The series was released on DVDs for Japanese audiences in June 2012, with a subtitle-only DVD set appearing in 2013 in the United Kingdom.

Various Black Rock Shooter media adaptations appeared since the first appearance of Huke’s original character in 2007 and eventual Supercell Hatsune Miku song. There have been a total of two manga, an original video animation, and even video games. The latest game, Black Rock Shooter: The Game released worldwide on the PlayStation Portable in 2013.
