It looks like Atelier Ryza’s sequel might end up being as successful as the original. Gust took to Twitter to announce the first Atelier Ryza 2 sales milestone. The game debuted in Japan on December 3, 2020 and, as of December 9, 2020, it has sold over 150,000 digital and physical copies.
To celebrate, Gust shared a new picture of Ryza with Klaudia.

This marks the second strong Atelier launch in a row for Gust. As Bloomberg’s Takashi Mochizuki pointed out in September 2019, the original Atelier Ryza hit the 150,000 milestone in Japan within its first week as well. When it comes to Atelier Ryza 2 sales, Gust said in its tweet that it is selling better than the original game.
In 2020, Atelier Ryza hit quite a milestone itself. While Atelier Sophie originally was the best selling installment in the series with over 370,000 copies sold, Ryza’s first game ended up taking the lead and becoming the most successful Atelier game as of April 2020.
Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy will come to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC worldwide on January 26, 2021, and there’ll even be a digital deluxe edition. It is immediately available on consoles in Japan.
