Phantasy Star Online 2 will hold a crossover event with Yakuza: Like a Dragon in January 2021. Unfortunately, this crossover event has only been announced for Japanese users. North American users will need to wait to see if this collaboration will arrive in their region any time soon.
The Phantasy Star Online 2 and Yakuza: Like a Dragon collaboration will include the distribution of items for both male and female avatars in the form of cosmetics that will allow players to dress like Ichiban Kasuga or Saeko Mukoda. Players will be able to wear Ichiban’s signature suit and the Matriach attire for Saeko, along with other facial cosmetics to look more like the characters from Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
Additionally, three weapon cosmetics will also be available for players to obtain. This includes Ichiban’s signature barbed wire wrapped bat, Saeko’s naginata when she has been assigned the Matriarch job, and a machine gun.

Other cosmetics include a lobby action that allows players to recreate the animation of using an “Extreme Skill” in Yakuza: Like a Dragon. And, of course, for those smitten with Yakuza mascot character Ono Michiyo you will be able to obtain an Ono Michiyo head cosmetic.
Phantasy Star Online 2 has collaborated with other properties like the Persona series. In August, an event allowed players to obtain cosmetic items that allowed them to dress up as popular characters from the franchise.
Phantasy Star Online 2 is available in the west for Xbox One and PC. In Japan, it is available on PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Yakuza: Like a Dragon is immediately available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and will come to PlayStation 5 in March 2021.
