Know what’s a good sword? The Monster Hunter series’ Great Sword. It’s an enduring weapon that has been with players since game in 2004. Now, to help people figure out what to expect going forward, Capcom shared a Monster Hunter Rise Great Sword video showing it in action.
This is actually a rather substantial video. For six minutes, people can see a Hunter and their two Palamutes head out into the Shrine Ruins in search of an Aknosom. (That’s the new bird wyvern inspired by cranes.) Before showing off the Great Sword moveset, people can see characters ride the Palamute and use the Wirebug to move around. At the two minute mark, the Aknosom appears and we can see how this heavy, two-handed weapon and its charged slashes can help take down opponents.
Here’s the Monster Hunter Rise Great Sword trailer.
As a reminder, this is one of many weapons that will be returning in Monster Hunter Rise. Back at the beginning of October 2020, Capcom noted 14 weapons will return from past games. People might notice some feel a bit different, especially since they can be combined with the Wirebug for attacks.
Monster Hunter Rise will come to the Nintendo Switch worldwide on March 26, 2021. Palico, Palamute, and Magnamalo amiibo will also be available.
