NIS America first confirmed the problem on October 26, 2020 on Twitter, even before Trails of Cold Steel IV’s official launch date. At the time, it noted that there was a pre-loading problem that was keeping people from obtaining digital copies. At the time, the company said it was looking into the issue.

Here’s the official tweet. While NIS America did point out this problem ahead of launch, people are still reporting Trails of Cold Steel IV is not downloading as it should.

After addressing that Trails of Cold Steel IV problem, NIS America mentioned additional updates are on the way. A day-one patch is available, with a second one also in the works. The company didn’t elaborate on what either one will fix.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV is available for the PlayStation 4 worldwide, though people who pre-ordered through the PlayStation Store are experiencing downloading issues. The Nintendo Switch and PC versions will appear in 2021.
