A My Time at Portia sequel is in development, and Pathea Games is seeking outside assistance for funding. The developer is looking for $100,000 for My Time at Sandrock on Kickstarter. The project will look for funding until November 22, 2020. If all goes according to plan, then it will ideally be available via Steam Early Access in March 2021. Then it will be on PCs via storefronts like Epic Games Store, GOG, and Steam in Spring 2022 and on the PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X in Summer 2022.
There’s actually quite a bit of history behind Sandrock. Originally, it would have been a My Time at Portia Kickstarter stretch goal, but people never unlocked and reached it. The town itself was mentioned in-game and hinted at, with a member of the development team suggesting that it would be the location of a whole new game in October 2019 on Steam.
My Time at Sandrock will play similarly to My Time at Portia, with players coming to town as a Builder. It will be ported to consoles by Pathea and ideally self-published. People will have a life sim, RPG, and co-op multiplayer for ideally four people. The Kickstarter reveal also noted that there will be fewer love interests initially available, but the goal is to make potential romances and relationships more interesting.
Here’s the first My Time at Sandrock trailer. It gives people a pretty good idea of what to expect from the My Time at Portia sequel, which is more farming, crafting, and living a virtual life.
My Time at Sandrock is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter. The smallest amount you can donate to get a copy of the game is $20. The estimated Steam Early Access window for PCs is March 2021, with the My Time at Portia sequel showing up on the PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC in 2022.
