Another region is going to get the new Phantasy Star mobile game this week. The Idola Phantasy Star Saga European launch is now set for October 22, 2020. Boltrend hasn’t noted what sorts of launch celebrations people might be able to expect.
Idola Phantasy Star Saga is a more traditional, turn-based RPG. (It might feel a bit like other mobile RPGs like Fate/Grand Order.) Players build up two teams of characters, with a gacha system involved of course, and fight through a story against Idolas and Dark Falz, the constant Phantasy Star foe. An affinity system lets you unlock side stories for characters, which eventually also helps you determine how characters grow by choosing their alignment. It also has traditional fights and ones where you become one of the massive Idolas.
Idola Phantasy Star Saga first appeared in Japan back in November 2018. It then took almost two years before an English version finally appeared. Initially, the English version was available in places like North America starting in September 2020, but the Idola Phantasy Star Saga European launch was a little bit behind. It was teased with a vague “within a month” launch confirmation back when October 2020 began.
Idola Phantasy Star Saga will appear on Android and Apple iOS devices in Europe on October 22, 2020. It is available in other areas like Japan and North America.
