The latest issue of Famitsu has an interview for Square Enix‘s new mobile game Octopath Traveler: Conquerors of the Continent. This interview revealed the development team’s plans to regularly update the game with more stories and characters at an almost monthly pace. The team also mentioned that a new Octopath Traveler console game will take more time until it can be revealed. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]
Here are some highlights from the interview with the Octopath Traveler: Conquerors of the Continent development team from Square Enix:
- “We plan to add new stories with a pace of once every 1-2 months. We have thought of the stories for the next two years. New travelers are planned to be implemented at an even quicker pace than that.”
- “The personal stories of the 64 travelers won’t have any differences in length, so it won’t be something like 3-starred characters having shorter stories and 5-starred travelers getting longer ones.”
- “The development of an Octopath Traveler for game consoles is going to take a bit more time.”
- “We would be glad if all fans of console games also look forward to Bravely Default II.”
Octopath Traveler: Conquerors of the Continent is set to launch for iOS and Android mobile devices in Japan on October 28, 2020. Bravely Default II, which is also mentioned in the interview, is an RPG currently slated for release on the Nintendo Switch in 2020.
