It’s a big day for Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 news. Some of the details concern features we already know are new to the game, like the Skill Battle highlighted in multiple trailers. Another let people know that the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X version digital pre-orders are open. We even have a promise that we’ll see extra updates, like more characters. It’s a lot to look through, to be certain.
The Skill Battle is the focus of the new trailer. This is a match where you have three characters on your side and face off against an opponent with their own team of three. You use their skills as you play Puyo Puyo and Tetris against the enemy, sometimes using Item Cards to further bolster your standings. The Launch Edition of the game will even have Sonic the Hedgehog-based cards you use. One of the four Leagues in-game, Skill Battle League, will even let people face off online. (It joins Puzzle League, Puyo Puyo League and Tetris League.
Here’s the new trailer.
And here are some new screenshots.
