There’s an update on Game & Watch Super Mario availability in North America. The official website has updated with a message that might reassure people hoping to grab the replica of Nintendo’s original gaming handhelds. It now notes the system will not only launch on November 13, 2020, but “will continue to be shipped to retailers through approximately March 31, 2021.” [Thanks, Camo_Magic on Reddit!]
Just in case the website is changed, here’s the image offering Nintendo’s update regarding shipments. It also stressed that there could be a limits as to how many appear by noting “while supplies last.”
The Game & Watch Super Mario Bros, which includes Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels, Ball, and a clock, was announced during the Super Mario Bros 35th Anniversary Direct. It is inspired by the original Game & Watch units and is about the same size, though unlike the first products in that line, it is a full color system with complete NES games on it. (Later entries, like the Panorama Screen Donkey Kong Circus and Mickey Mouse Game & Watch handhelds, were in color.)
This website update means it is yet another Super Mario-related product with a March 31, 2021 cut-off date. Other games with that same limit include Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Super Mario Bros 35.
Game & Watch Super Mario Bros will cost $49.99, launch on November 13, 2020, and will appear until about March 31, 2021.
